Aliyah Hasinah is a poet and artivist whose writing focuses on personal understandings of history, politics and social commentary.
Her work has been published in the Saqi Books Anthology 'The Things I Would Tell You: British Muslim Women write'' 2017, as edited by Sabrina Mahfouz and other publications. Aliyah is also part of Birmingham REP's Theatre makers programme developing work around UK private prisons, scientific racism and cycles of imprisonment.
Aliyah is passionate about reclaiming narratives, actively decolonising history and creating work that enables discussion and dialogue. She is also founder of Birmingham based live event Herstory LIVE, one third of podcast 'Who Got the Juice' and an aspiring filmmaker/historian.
