Home to the world’s most inspired thinkers, the TED stage is a global platform where cutting edge ideas converge and millions are inspired day in, day out.

Founded in 1984, TED was conceived in Monterey California, where its first conference saw innovators of the Technology, Entertainment and Design world congregate to share their vision. Now in its 30th year, TED has since grown to become a universally recognised platform where pioneers of every discipline, background and culture present their awe-inspiring ideas and ground breaking findings through a series of talks. From TED Active to the development of the TED-Ed lesson series, TED projects have grown increasingly diverse. What remains constant is a nonprofit organisation committed to the accessibility of great ideas and a deeper understanding of the world in which we live.

Building on a partnership between TED and the Skoll Foundation, TEDxSkoll invites new audiences to hear from social entrepreneurs and other innovators about the most important issues of our time. While the Skoll World Forum is an invitation-only event, TEDxSkoll will welcome 500+ members of the Oxford community to join participants and speakers from across the UK and the globe to engage in rich dialogue, forge connections, and seize on the energy sparked by the Skoll World Forum, Marmalade, and other events taking place in Oxford the first week of April. We believe that innovative approaches to social change are ideas worth spreading, and are excited to host social entrepreneurs alongside leaders from technology, entertainment, design and beyond to celebrate the ideas that do—or can—change the world.
